I've been hanging around at the Library quite a bit the last week finishing up with my weekly assigned school work and exploring all the new product rentals that they are now offering. What a wonderful place. I personally love reading, so I do enjoy hang around in a library for hours and hours. The problem is that I don't have a lot of time to do a lot of reading like I use to. I use to be able read for hours and hours, but with all that I have on my plate, I don't have a lot of entertainment reading time.
I haven't made any new cards this past week, since I came back from the annual church summer camp. Well... Maybe one which I haven't finished yet. Let's see if I'll find time this week, but I don't mind taking a break right now. There's another challenge from the Kwernerdesigns blog, but I just don't have any insight at all to participate this time.

Bad Girl!
For the past week, I have been so caught up on watching a TV series with my husband. I have gotten lazy on my school work, my card making hobby and most of all I've cut my bible reading time... My time with God. I'm working very hard to finish this TV series ASAP, so that I can get back on track with my life. Hopefully, after I've finished this series, I won't be starting any new ones soon. There are only 5 more episodes to go, but I don't know when I can finish it. On Saturday, I will be going to our church's annual summer retreat camp and will not return until Monday evening. So maybe we'll be able to bring it down a little bit tomorrow night.
Tomorrow, I'll have to do some last minute shopping for the summer camp preparation and thinking of going to the library to focus on catching up with my school work. I find that there are lots of distractions studying at home. I will work on my school work for an hour or so my mind will start wandering off to something else or I will just not take in any of the information that I'm reading. At that time, I will have to take a break... Then before I knew it, I'll be making cards, but once I start, I can't stop. This is a major obstacle I need to overcome. I feel that God is warning me of this danger and is telling me to overcome this temptation by balancing my school work, my family life, my hobby and my time with God.
Praise to God,
Thanks for looking

kwernerdesign Color Challenge
This is the first time I'm participating in a challenge. Details for this color challenge is on Kwernerdesign Blog (http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/?p=3307)

I used the blue, green and the pinks to stamp a scene with 2 of my "My Cute Stamps" stamp sets. The white I used as the background of the scene and the inside of the card, and the gray I used as a border of my scene. I dry embossed a pearl white cardstock to make the embossing stand out and to add some dimension to the white background. I used pop-up adhesive to give my stamped scene a more 3D look.

Below I've attached a darker photo where you can see the shimmer on the white background better.

Thanks for looking and happy cardmaking.

Kraft Cardstock
I love the chandelier on this card. It's the Celebrate Chandelier stamp set from My Cute Stamps. I heat embossed it with black embossing powder. It a simple card, but I think it looks pretty elegant.
After I finished I felt something wasn't quite right, so I added some gems to give it a little boost of elegance.
This second card I made, I decided to make a birthday card. I kinda wanted to use up the "Hey There" velum that's been sitting around for a while, but I couldn't find any use of it. Also, the cake is one of the sixxiz die set that have been lying around for a while as well.

Handmade Gift Basket
I made this pretty little gift basket for my friend's bridal shower. She is one of my bridesmaids for my wedding. One of the theme color of her wedding is turquoise (good guess because I only found out after I made this basket).

The complete tutorial video of this pretty little gift basket is from StampTV (http://stamptv.ning.com/video/gift-basket-part-1). I got lazy and didn't do the brad part, which keeps the handle from coming off when I lift the basket. But so far the scoretape is doing a very good job holding it together as you can see I have quite a lot in the basket.

I'm still using my dummies camera, and these photos were taken at night, so I'm relying only on my kitchen lights (the brightest light in my home), that's why the color is not turning out great. Hopefully, I'll learn how to use my DH's Rebel soon and so that I can better photos of my artworks.

Wedding Photos
I just had time to look at my wedding photos from October 10th, 2009. I regret to say that I didn't attention to all the little details my helpers have done to put this altogether for our big day. Like the wedding cake below. I only remember that there was a cake, but I'm unaware of all the extra decorations and flowers on it. My greatest and deepest thank you to you all who have made this day a wonderful one for me and Ringo.
Special thanks to Raymond, Jessie and Brian who shot all the photos (also pre-wedding and engagement photos) to preserve these wonderful memories and the small little details of the day. Also, a special thank you to Desmond Lee who shot our video although I still haven't seen it yet.

First Week of Unemployment
It's exactly one week since I left my job. I'm now sort of a full time student, and sort of a full time housewife. Well then, maybe I'm a part-time student and a part-time housewife. My goal now is to finish my Legal Admin Assistant Program ASAP, spend more time to take care of my home and more time on my favorite hobby, card making.
I love to make cards, and I love to see the faces of those who receives them. I think a personal handmade card as a little gift is so much better than a store-bought card that has nothing out of the ordinary.
This hobby of mine started two years ago (Don't know if I'm still considered a newby), at a scrapbook card making event hosted by one of the Youth Society I use to volunteer for. Soon after, I got hooked!
I prefer making cards. once in a blue moon I will make a scrapbook page with photos (so far I only made 2), but card making is still my most favorite. Like I said before, I love the happy look on other people's faces when they receive my cards.
Hopefully, I'll soon be able to post some of my artwork up. I've some photos of a few cards I've made in the earlier stage of my card making experience. But I'm currently looking for a way to take better photos of my work.
Stay tune!
